The suspect Jerry Hanel 69, had a long history with the Honolulu Police Department. Jerry Hanel who is mentally ill and delusional had been served a court ordered eviction notice on Friday. By Sunday morning Jerry Hanel obviously agitated escalated to attacking and stabbing 2 victims.
HPD received a 911 call reporting an altercation on Hibiscus in Diamond Head, 2 victims had been stabbed. As the officers arrived on scene shots rang out. Officers responding to help the stabbing victims were shot down ambush style.
A total of 7 homes were destroyed and 3 people are unaccounted for as of today.
